I like to photo of the bulldog that you chose. My parents have a bulldog and I just love him. The graphics that you chose to place around the title and the author's name not only frame the text on the cover, but frames the picture as well, making it the focal point of the cover. The color scheme you chose works well with the photograph and blends nicely together. The use of a complimentary color for your name adds contrast to the cover, but does not take away from the photograph. :0)
